Eat..Pray..Run!!

eat...pray...run!!!!

These things I made the other day can be made love to!!

You can kiss them..roll your tongue over them...but the foreplay has to be real quick..because you'll want to eat them. Is caramel and chocolate = divine for you?? Then myloves think lots of rich soothing caramel...lots of milk chocolate and some crunchy cracker-y goodness. ummmmm...mmm!!

I put an entire lot in my refrigerator last night and they were G.O.N.E before morning...#husbands!!!

Crackers are my Love language and I arranged them on a baking dish...topped em with lots (i mean lots..diabetes inducing lots) of caramel and lots (even lotsss) of chocolate. And shoved in the oven set at 170 degrees for 10 mins. They were allowed to rest for 20 mins (which might be the most excruciatingly difficult 20 mins of your life) and dump the tray in the refrigerator..let rest for sometime and break this lovely piece of lust into little squares.

Eat them..

Zumba for taste buds

Last week was busy with Vanilla Pods Kitchen unleashing it's sweetness on food lovers :)..we set up a dessert and tea stall @ The Spring Fair at the Australian High Commission. We were through with our cakes as the evening set in. A week's labour paid off as people returned again n again for our beauties. The bitter lemon cake on offer was off the shelves before we could say Jack Robinson. Two ladies picked up entire cakes (even though we were selling by the piece).

I love a crowd that's experimental n fun. Few years back one might have frowned at the thought of a bitter tasting cakey dessert...but not today. This spongy piece of goodness works well as a tea time cake...as an after meal sweet meat ...as a filler...as a snack..(i love it, i could give you ten thousand reasons to wolf it down)

I promise it will send a tingle through your spine and do the Zumba on ur tastebuds. This tantalisingly tangy Bitter Lemon Cake is refreshing and delicious at the same time. And yes I endorse it with all my might and Taste

Recipe: Half measure self rising flour and half measure whole wheat flour. 3/4th measure brown sugar. 1measure olive oil. Throw it all together, blend well..add 2 tea spoons of baking powder and half tea spoon of baking soda. Shove it in the batter..see it bubble. You may add two whipped eggs. And now the magic ingredient L.e.m.o.n.s....squeeze em baby..one big whole fruit. And use a grater to peel the rind and throw it in the batter. Add lots of good vanilla powder or extract and voila! We're set to give it the hot treatment. Put the batter in a baking tin lined with parchment paper and greased with some more olive oil. Put it in the oven..bake at 175 degrees for 40 mins or until an inserted toothpick comes out squeaky clean. Let it cool. Once the sides of the cake give away..which should be in half an hour take the cake out of the tin and let it rest on a wire rack.
For the frosting: mix some icing sugar and molten butter..add some more lemon juice n lemon rind and drop this thick jelly on the cake.

Feast on :) it's yummmaay on the tummy !!!

Btw did anyone forget to mention that whole wheat, lots of lemons, brown sugar and olive oil make it one of the healthiest desserts you are going to ever feast on....
